Getting to the point:
Will Oatis introduced himself to us and told us he was...well actually is running for U.S. Senate...random right. Well we were at a coffee house doing a photo shoot so we were probably the random ones. Anyway, he told us about how he served in the military, why he is running for senate, and what he and his campaign manager (Robiel...I hope I spelled that right), had done and are going to do. I got over the thought of my calves listened.
I'll be honest with you. I do not personally know Will Oatis. Honestly, I just want and try to vote for people to be in office who seem to and hopefully (do) care about the best interest of people and also will do both great and small positive things (no matter, which party it is). Of course some people are voted into office and do nothing we expected and sometimes they do. Credit is due for those who do what they say they will or at least try really hard to accomplish it.
My point is this. Just in the moment of Will Oatis and Robiel taking the time to talk with us and tell us about his campaign, I couldn't help but respect that. It wasn't a forced conversation (which I do not like...forced conversations that is). Nevertheless, I'm not asking you to vote for him because you should look at what he has to offer for yourself. See if his point of views match the subjects that are important to you.
What I like:
He wants to improve the image and education of MS. With high rates of pregnancy and poverty (according to some statics), but low rates of education...those statics NEED to change.
He served in the military for 20 years (um...wow)
He believes we should do more for our nation instead of being to quick to help other nations first. I agree. How is it that we are so quick to jump in other nations issues when we have so many here that need the same help...in some cases maybe more?

Quick change of subject:
If your wondering about the "single women," phrase in the title. Long story short, I do not remember how we jumped to the subject of dating (we may have been talking about how dating has changed or if it has...who knows). He (Will Oatis) wrote a book entitled "Dating Old-Fashioned Men..."He gave me a free autographed copy. I haven't read it yet, but I will post a review for sure. Be Fierce, Be Fine, Better You...WhyKnot?!

Hi Ashley, this is Rabia, the lady you met on Sunday! I said my name really fast when I met you, so no worries on the spelling. Hope you're doing well and I'm so glad to have met you.
ReplyDeleteLol, I will go back and correct the spelling of your name. I'm happy to have met you all as well and I hope this election has served as an encouragement regardless of results. Some people only say what they plan to do, but do not add movement and you all have.
