Tip of the day(always consult your physician and/or do research):
Have you heard of Traction Alopecia? Well, that is hair loss as a result of too tight hair styles. Ex: cornrows or braids, ponytails/puffs, extensions, etc that are so tight, your scalp starts to hurt.
If your childhood, was like plenty of other kids in the 80's/90's and before and after, we played hard. People thought these styles made tighter would keep our hair in place, but in areas it just changed your eye shape due to the pulling of skin!
It actually weakens your hair.
Solution: wear your hair looser. Don't always wear a pony/puff or any style with too much tension. If left untreated, over time the damage can become permanent. It can also cause scarring and inflammation. -references Linda Amerson Ph.D. Trichologist. Article "Hair," Essence Magazine.

Black Women...Get Your Life!
Tip of the day (always consult your actual physician before doing these and/or research if needed):
stress!!!!! Its in lower caps because it sucks! Ugh, we all have had it right...well I was told about a lady in her 20's who died from a heart attack and it was thought to be linked to too many energy drinks in the day and pills to sleep at night...
Does that sound too familiar to you? Are you "beasting," on a lot if caffeine around the clock plus lack of any real sleep (less than 8 hours). Accord to an article by Dr. Oz in Essence Magazine, "57% of black women receive less than 6 hours if sleep a night." Also that heart disease is the "number one killer," of black women...that's a lot to think on.
I've never been a fan of believing ever static I hear, but I have to look at my own situations sometimes. I woke up one day feeling drained. I called my mother and she said "that work will be there...there is only one you." She took the time to explain how feeling that way could open the door to the flu and I admire she took the time to teach verses fuss. If you come from a family that works or has worked hard, it can be hard to put up a white flag for a day and sick days should not be abused, but you have to listen to your body. I heard a nurse tell me one time after I explain to her that I was feeling pains I never had before that I know of " if you do not allow your body to rest, it will shut down for you."-paraphrased.
Quick solutions: make time for 1.Exercise,
2. 8 hours of sleep,
3. plenty of fruits and veggies,
4. stretching,
5.breaks(meditation),
6. pleasure.
7.balance
The next post will be breaking the above 7 points down.

Beautiful Textures Review
So getting to the point, which I know you like: THE REVIEW! BT Rapid Repair Deep Conditioner and BT Shampoo (this review doesn't include the actual BT detangler/ leave in).
PrO'S:
1.) I had not detangled my hair in close to a month (had it in twist). I used the beautiful textures deep conditioner and it was very easy to comb through my hair. Not even the ends where hard to comb.
2.) The smell is delightful
3.)Since my hair is thick, I like rich or (creamy) conditioners so I'm happy that it was indeed creamy and coated my hair well without having to use a lot.
4.) I had very little hair shed and in the past I have had a lot.
5.)It made detangling a lot less intimidating and faster
6.)The deep conditioner can serve as a wash out or leave in conditioner as well (love that).
7.) I received these products for free for attending an event, but I hear that B.T. is sold at Wal-mart, which means it is hopefully cheap.
CoN'S:
1.) My hair took almost a day to dry (washed in twist, detanlged, added deep conditioner, re twisted to dry) which is not the products fault I wouldn't guess, but when it did dry it didn't feel as moisturized as I would have expected. I do not know if I did something wrong or what, but the feel of my hair wasn't as cotton soft, but more of a texture I wasn't accustom to. It wasn't hard or soft just felt more like a light coat of something was on top of my hair. Hmmmm.
2.)My twist out was "not doing it." What I mean is it wasn't as cute as expected either, which is why I didn't do a video and I put on a hat instead...then a pony tail. My hair looked dry and little stiff.
3.) I washed my hair 3-4 times and I still had some residue of dirt on my scalp.
*Now Ingredients in a Nut Shell:
In the B.T. Rapid Repair Deep Conditioner, there are ingredients like Glycine Soja Oil, Shea Butter, Fruit Oil....then you get to your Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate's and etc.
I'm not huge on "everything has to come from the earth type products." Don't get me wrong, I like those types of products and wish they were cheaper, but if it (the product) is safe and healthy then hey, it can be Lady Bug Tears in there (jk). For those who are for ONLY natural products then you may want to read the bottles before you buy the products.
*The Comb:
I used a comb by Con-Air. It was my first time using that particular comb. There is a picture of it below. I added a picture of the comb because the comb you use could make a difference in the way your hair is detangled as well. I believe I purchased that come from Target for under $6.
Summary:
Over all I like the products due to their detangling ability if nothing else. It could be possible that my twist out sucked because I did not use a product by them that was meant to be used on twist out's (some products are made specifically for certain hair styles). I will try my other products from them at some point and post it if I get good results and maybe even if I don't.
As of right now, besides detanlging I would probably use B.T as a co-wash or re fresh washing/conditioning system verses using as my regular hair cleansing products. I hope this helps someone and gives them info they needed.

Hair Done For 3wks to a Month?
I had my hair styled for a wedding about two weeks ago. I knew I had an event coming up well...now. I'm at the event. I knew I didn't have time to take my hair down and style it so I took down the style, but not the twist (took out the pins).
1. I washed/conditioned my hair in its twist (air dry)
2.I allowed it to fully dry.
3.I took a small spray bottle and misted my hair with water and a leave in just to add moisture.
4. Got ready for the night then took down as many twist as desired to create a 80's meets 2012 look on the side.
5. Literally roll or twist the twist in the back together and pin them up close to the twist out at the top. That way your hair blends well.
6. You do not have to do this, but I left a little duck tail hair in the back. I was only able to take a picture of a portion of it. Hope this helps!
How to make it last another 2weeks?
1.re twist the hair that is out then repeat the steps above! Now you have a hair style for at least a month if you want to. I may wear this style another 2wks. If I change again I'll post it.

Natural Hair vs. Wedding
You can either get a "perm," or wear a wig. This is what a co worker told me the options were for a few natural ladies selected to be a bridesmaid in a lady's wedding. First of all, black people get relaxers. Second, those options...seriously?
I was asked to be a bridesmaid in a wedding this pass weekend. This was my second time being a bridesmaid as a natural and I realize neither bride asked me (even if maybe they wanted to) to change my hair.
However, I knew someone, somewhere was think...so how is she going to wear her hair? We were told to have it off the neck (hair) and I knew I didn't want to have to do any touch up styling to my hair so anything with a twist out was out.
I searched google for styles and found two so my hair dress that I treat myself to sometimes merged them and I got sooo many complements by people that everyone was pleased including myself....because that relaxer or wig wasn't happening.
I think certain visual traditions have scared some people to think natural hair and formal evens do not mix, but natural hair isn't the stereotype people make it out to be. Just like black people aren't. It's beautiful, bold, and original.
To the Hair style.
1.The Sides and tiny cornrows to the scalp until they reach the back of my head.
2.The free ends were two stranded twist then pinned into a French roll with bobby pins.
3. The top are mid size two strand twist that are pint to the side to make a little volume in the front.
Sometimes you just how to show people that something is good, by wearing it like it is good.

Whats Up With Marriage?
Happy Wednesday All!....now that, that's out the way.
Marriage seems to be a hot button topic right now. I'm not a fan on blogging about whats popular usually, but marriage is something that I believe affects everyone so it is important to discuss.
Marriage doesn't affect me....I'm not marriage yet you may be thinking.
Maybe you aren't, but are your parents, are your friends, do you plan to get married?
Let me put out this disclaimer. I'm not married yet... How do I feel about that?
Extra cool. Of course I want to get married, but I know its important and NOT JUST a license (to me...and God that is...Hebrews 13, 1Cor. 7...etc.) so until a SUITABLE mate is presented and not just A MATE (which is extra easy to find for anyone I would think) then okay.
Until one is married, don't sit in a corner and knit sweaters all day (yikes...I mean don't let that be the only thing you do...I have friends who knit and sew lol). We all have purpose and it doesn't go away when your married, it just unites with someone else's, which is why its important to marry someone who believes in the vision God gave them and you as well (Jeremiah 29:11 and Jeremiah 1:5).
Now that all of that is out of the way, get to the meat.
I went to church this pass Sunday expecting to hear almost anything, but a sermon on marriage. I'm so happy I did. I am a big believer in learning how to be a better wife or for men a better husband before getting married. Not to say you will get everything right before marriage (maybe its possible), but to at least have an awesome head start and foundation.
For some reason, its hot outside and a lot of people are getting married and or getting in relationships (heat and hormones I tell ya...jk...or am I?). Sadly, there may be just as many if not more people getting a divorce. Why? Especially among Christians? Maybe we are viewing this wrong, maybe our expectations are wrong and we are getting these day dreams from people who marriage sucks (lets be real). Maybe we have stopped looking to The One we are suppose to be vowing in front of to our mate (ponder face).
Anyway, if your interested, Saved or not. Visit www.TheLife.cc and click on one of the 3 versions of "The Lord Of the Rings," (I clicked the longest because I do not want to miss anything!).
I hope this helps people, also myself and Lord's Will my future Honey Bear (husband). Hey we all can stand to be better people for sure.
