My Go To Protective Style

A personal friend of mind who also has natural hair asked me one day "what is a protective style you wear during the week." So I will reply to not only her, but you as well.

I two strand twist my hair and style it into different styles throughout the week. Only the weekend if I'm not in a wash and go mood I un do the twist and wear a "mean," or fly twist out. The protective style keeps my hair soft and touchable...yes even the BB's lol...still soft.

How:
1.) after washing, I detangle my hair and add in a leave in deep conditioner as well as a styling product of my choice that has moisture as well. In this case I used Shea Moisture Deep Masque and Miss Jessie's Baby Buttercreme.

2.)I do not part my hair (you can part yours), I simply grad pieces as I know I want the hair to lay a certain way and twist. The smaller the twist the more hair you have to cover parts, but it may take longer to twist.

3. I add a spray version of oil to seal in moisture then I allow my hair to air dry.
By oil, I prefer natural oils like jojoba oils, olive oil, etc.

Done! The good thing about twist is that you can style them easy for work, working out, or going out.

The pictures below are pics of my hair in a pony before a work out (allows scalp to breathe easy) and picks of my hair.
***remember natural hair should help you explore your creative side even more. Allow the versatility to inspire you. Even if you aren't use to doing your own hair...surprise yourself and believe you can the try it...then try it again :)
