You can either get a "perm," or wear a wig. This is what a co worker told me the options were for a few natural ladies selected to be a bridesmaid in a lady's wedding. First of all, black people get relaxers. Second, those options...seriously?
I was asked to be a bridesmaid in a wedding this pass weekend. This was my second time being a bridesmaid as a natural and I realize neither bride asked me (even if maybe they wanted to) to change my hair.
However, I knew someone, somewhere was think...so how is she going to wear her hair? We were told to have it off the neck (hair) and I knew I didn't want to have to do any touch up styling to my hair so anything with a twist out was out.
I searched google for styles and found two so my hair dress that I treat myself to sometimes merged them and I got sooo many complements by people that everyone was pleased including myself....because that relaxer or wig wasn't happening.
I think certain visual traditions have scared some people to think natural hair and formal evens do not mix, but natural hair isn't the stereotype people make it out to be. Just like black people aren't. It's beautiful, bold, and original.
To the Hair style.
1.The Sides and tiny cornrows to the scalp until they reach the back of my head.
2.The free ends were two stranded twist then pinned into a French roll with bobby pins.
3. The top are mid size two strand twist that are pint to the side to make a little volume in the front.
Sometimes you just how to show people that something is good, by wearing it like it is good.
Be Fine, Be Fierce, Better You...Whyknot?!
